A leading Groundworks and Civil Engineering contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to support a growing portfolio of residential groundworks and Civils projects across the North West
This is a key position within the business, combining both commercial and pre-construction responsibilities. The successful candidate will take ownership of projects from tender stage through to final account, working closely with Directors and operational teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing estimates and tenders for residential groundworks and civil engineering schemes
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and contract documentation
- Producing accurate cost plans, budgets and forecasts
- Managing subcontract procurement and commercial negotiations
- Preparing valuations, variations and applications for payment
- Monitoring project costs and commercial performance
- Producing and agreeing final accounts
- Providing commercial support to site and project teams
- Managing projects under JCT and bespoke contract arrangements

Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within groundworks, residential infrastructure or civil engineering
- Experience carrying out estimating duties and tender preparation
- Strong understanding of JCT and bespoke forms of contract
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
