Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

Location: London, UK (8 days per month onsite – mandatory)
Contract: 12 Months + ext

Role

As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of software solutions through both manual and automated testing within an Agile environment. You will create test strategies, design and execute test cases, manage defects, and work closely with both technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Understand Functional and Technical documentation (Requirements / Design) to create Test Scenarios and Test Cases (Manual and Automated).
  • Write the Test Strategy and propose the most appropriate Test Approach.
  • Present the testing approach to key stakeholders and propose alternative approaches where required.
  • Peer review Test Scenarios and Test Cases.
  • Execute Manual and Automated Test Scenarios and Test Cases.
  • Manage defects throughout the testing lifecycle, including analysis and defect triage.
  • Work collaboratively within the squad and across all squads within the Tribe.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and accurately report testing progress.
  • Be accountable for the quality of all test artefacts produced.
  • Contribute to Agile ceremonies and activities.
  • Be willing to become a cross-trained, T-Shaped squad member.
  • Work with both onshore and offshore teams.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience as a Quality Engineer working in an Agile Environment
  • Experience of working in the Finance Industry
  • Proven experience of creating Test Strategies and delivering this in line with expectations
  • Strong SQL Skills
  • Automation Experience using UFT, Selenium, Java
  • Technical/Business Knowledge: CREST Application, CREST proprietary messaging Tandem, Windows, UNIX, SWIFT/ISO messaging, SQL
  • Test Tool Knowledge: ALM, Azure DevOps
  • ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing
  • Open minded, forward thinking, strong proven stakeholder management, Engineering mindset

  • Understanding of BDD/TDD principles.
  • Experience with Java, OpenShift and Kafka.
  • Automation experience using Selenium, Java and Playwright.
