Senior QA Engineer | Clean Energy
£62,000 | Hybrid / 2 Day's a Week in Birmingham

I’m working with an organisation in the clean energy sector whose work supports the UK’s transition towards net zero. They’re looking for a Senior QA Engineer to help make sure the software behind that work is reliable, resilient and properly tested.
You’ll take ownership of QA within a development team, combining hands-on automation with the opportunity to influence how testing is done. There’s also a mentoring element, making this a good fit for someone who enjoys supporting other engineers alongside their own technical work.

- Building and improving automated test coverage, working alongside an experienced QA team.
- Getting involved early in development to identify risks and shape the testing approach.
- Bringing automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support reliable releases.
- Investigating defects and working closely with developers to resolve the underlying issues.
- Contributing to performance, security and accessibility testing.
- Supporting other QA Engineers and improving testing practices across the team.
What you’ll bring:
- A strong background in software testing, with hands-on automation experience.
- Experience using Playwright, Selenium or similar tools.
- JavaScript, Python or Java skills for writing automated tests.
- An understanding of CI/CD and how testing fits into the development process.
- Experience mentoring colleagues and taking responsibility for quality within a team.

Experience with performance testing tools, security testing or accessibility would also be useful.
