About the Company

We're looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join a major financial services organisation delivering critical technology change across a complex enterprise environment.

About the Role

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in Agile teams, enjoys owning test strategy and approach, and has a passion for automation and quality engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing business requirements, functional specifications and technical designs to create high quality test scenarios and test cases.
  • Defining, documenting and presenting Test Strategies and Test Approaches to stakeholders.
  • Executing both manual and automated testing across multiple workstreams.
  • Designing and maintaining automation frameworks and regression test suites.
  • Managing defects through the full lifecycle, including investigation, triage and resolution support.
  • Working closely with developers, business analysts, product owners and release teams.
  • Providing regular status updates and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Reviewing and assuring the quality of testing artefacts produced across the team.
  • Supporting Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups and retrospectives.
  • Collaborating with teams across onshore and offshore locations.

Qualifications

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience working as a Quality Engineer, QA Engineer, SDET or Test Automation Engineer.
  • Strong background working within Agile delivery environments.
  • Experience creating and owning Test Strategies and Test Approaches.
  • Financial Services experience.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Solid automation experience using:
    • Selenium
    • Java
    • UFT
    • Playwright
  • Experience testing APIs and integration services.
  • Strong defect management and root cause analysis capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps and/or ALM.
  • ISTQB or ISEB Foundation Certification.
