Senior QA Engineer | Payments
Bracknell (Hybrid 2-3 days in office) | Salary £55,000 - £65,000
You will own quality end to end, from test design through to release gating, within a small engineering team at a global payments business. Your work ships fast and your decisions matter.
What You Will Do
- Design and own integration test harnesses and contract tests for the flows that move money, across onboarding, KYC/KYB, payment initiation, FX, and settlement
- Lead test automation that gates code into production across multiple domains
- Set the balance of manual and automated testing in your domain, leading automation in Playwright or equivalent frameworks
- Own CI/CD quality strategy, lead production incident investigation, and translate findings into automated tests and process improvements
- Lead test architecture reviews, set quality direction for your domain, and mentor mid-level QA engineers
- Use agentic coding and AI test tools daily, and lead the build of the test estate for new capability on the modern stack

What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience building production test automation end to end
- Strong automation skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or C#, including test framework and architecture design
- API testing experience using Postman, Bruno, or equivalent
- UI automation experience using Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent
- Hands-on performance, load, or resilience testing using k6, JMeter, or equivalent
- Production experience with AWS in a development or test context, including CI/CD pipeline ownership
- SQL and relational database fundamentals
- Payments, FX, or regulated industry experience
- Daily use of agentic coding tools and AI test tools across the development lifecycle
- A track record of QA technical leadership: setting test architecture, leading code reviews, and owning quality decisions in your domain
