Job Title: Senior Quality Assurance Systems Lead
Department: Quality Assurance & Technical Quality
Job Type: Permanent
Job Location: Shropshire, commutable from Telford, Stoke, West Midlands, and Cheshire
Job Reward: £36k to £39k Target plus up to £3k Bonus
Client: Global FMCG food and drink manufacturer
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, regular days with some flexibility
We are recruiting a Quality Assurance Lead to join the Quality Technical Team, responsible for driving quality standards across manufacturing, supporting production, maintaining compliance with quality and food safety requirements. Leading continuous improvement initiatives in quality. You will ensure that quality expectations are achieved, support internal and external audits, customer requirements, and quality management system compliance.
Naturally, you will be passionate about quality assurance and control excellence and committed to delivering a strong quality culture.
Role Responsibilities - Senior Quality Assurance Systems Lead
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Support the implementation and improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Conduct regular quality and GMP audits across production
- Drive corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) following audits, customer complaints, non-conformances, and quality incidents
- Support product quality investigations, root cause analysis

Operational Quality Support
- Promote a proactive quality culture throughout the site
- Provide technical guidance and support to operational teams on quality and safety matters
- Drive adherence to quality standards, procedures, and best practices across manufacturing operations
- Support change management activities including trials, process improvements, and new product implementation
- Ensure quality documentation and records are maintained accurately and completed to the required standard
Auditing & Continuous Improvement
- Coordinate and support internal, customer, and external audits
- Lead and support continuous improvement projects focused on quality, compliance, and operational performance
Attracting candidates with Food Manufacturing QA and Quality Systems backgrounds ideally:
- Focussing on operational QA ownership, standards, compliance, investigations, and quality performance
- Involved in governance, audits, accreditation standards, documentation, and process control rather than laboratory work. There is no microbiological testing directly performed on this site
- Attractive to candidates experienced with ISO standards, HACCP, and food manufacturing quality systems
- Also relevant for skills and experience gained in other manufacturing, FMCG, pharma, Chemicals, and related industries

Skills and Requirements - Senior Quality Assurance Systems Lead
- Previous experience within Quality Assurance, Quality Systems, or Technical functions ideally within a food FMCG manufacturing environment
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems
- Experience supporting internal and external audits
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP
- Experience investigating non-conformances and implementing corrective actions
- Experience within dairy, FMCG, or food manufacturing environments preferred but industry transferrable skills also encouraged
- Internal Auditor qualification preferred, not essential
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies
