I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This is an automation-first role, emphasizing coding and tooling over manual testing. You will develop test frameworks, CI/CD integrations, and helper utilities, working closely with software engineers, product managers, and designers to set testing strategies and standards. Additionally, you will explore the integration of AI tools, such as large language models, to accelerate test authoring, failure analysis, and coverage insights, ensuring the testing process remains trustworthy and efficient.
In this role, you will own the mobile test strategy, build reliable end-to-end automation, and collaborate on incorporating AI into the software development lifecycle. You will also focus on preventing defects through shift-left quality practices, leveraging observability tools to analyze production issues, and conducting targeted exploratory testing when necessary. Your work will directly impact the speed and confidence with which we deliver new features and improvements to our customers.
