Senior Quality Engineer
£58,000 + 10% Bonus | Cornwall
We’re working with a well-established and growing manufacturing organisation looking to recruit a Senior Quality Engineer into its Cornwall operation.
This is not a traditional desk-based Quality role. We’re looking for a strong, hands-on engineer and problem solver who enjoys being close to production, identifying issues at source and implementing sustainable improvements.
The Role:
Working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality teams, you will:
- Lead structured root cause analysis and problem-solving across production.
- Utilise tools including 5 Why’s, Ishikawa/Fishbone, RCA, FMEA and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Investigate recurring manufacturing and process issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- Drive improvements across quality, reliability, waste and overall manufacturing performance.
- Work directly with production teams to resolve technical and process-related problems.
- Follow improvements through with the appropriate quality documentation and QMS updates.
- Support a wider culture of Continuous Improvement and operational excellence.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
