Quality Engineers
Quality Engineers are at the heart of every development team in Trayport and are key to the delivery of our software. Candidates should be passionate about delivering high-quality software and committed to ensuring our clients have the best user experience possible. Quality Engineers at Trayport share an unrivaled passion for quality, software testing, and love nothing more than voraciously and persistently hunting down bugs, investigating potential issues, and also preventing them from being introduced in the first place to help make our software the best it can be.
Our Quality Engineers use a combination of shift-left and shift-right testing techniques, exploratory testing, technical testing, and test automation to build quality into our software, working closely with the rest of their team and coaching others on how to write better software. Responsibilities
- Defining and executing the quality and testing strategy for your team, coaching other team members to ensure software quality is considered throughout the development process
- Design test charters and perform session-based exploratory testing to find unique bugs that could only be discovered by the most creative people
- Working closely with the Product Team and developers to ensure we are building the right software for our customers and embracing a shift-left approach to software quality
- Enhancing and utilizing our observability stack and embracing a shift-right approach to software quality
- Implement risk-based testing strategies to ensure we are approaching quality at the correct level
- Actively grow our culture of quality and engage in quality-related topics across the organization
- Pair with your teammates, expand your knowledge, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality, tested, maintainable code
- Investigate and perform root cause analysis on bugs, putting on your detective hat and diving into the code when necessary
- Discuss and design software architecture and contribute to whiteboard sessions
- Help developers brainstorm what should be covered in the automated tests and contributing to automation where appropriate
- Acting as a point of contact regarding product knowledge from various members of the business
- Attend knowledge sharing sessions with other testers and developers across the company to share techniques and product knowledge
- Leverage AI assistants like GitHub Copilot and Gemini to build custom internal testing tools, accelerate test script creation, and optimize overall engineering workflows.

The Person

- A strong background in software quality and exploratory testing
- Interested in all things technical with a passion for technology
- An inquisitive nature, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of testing concepts, methodologies, and processes
- Knowledge and experience working with Docker
- Experience with C# / .NET environment
- Familiarity with .NET Aspire
- Practical knowledge of Azure DevOps (ADO) for managing CI/CD workflows and deployment pipelines
- Exposure to AWS services, with an interest in working within a modern cloud backend architecture
- Willing to participate in and often lead technical discussions
- Ability to learn and/or adapt quickly to highly complex issues
- Happy to collaborate with a wide group of stakeholders
- Experience contributing to user stories and acceptance criteria
- Seeks opportunities to improve themselves and focuses on personal development
- Has a general attitude of care and responsibility towards their work
- Basic understanding of practical networking concepts (TCP/IP) and containerized environments
