Job title: Senior Quality Engineer
Location: London (2 days per week onsite Mon & Thu)
Contract: 6 months with possible extension
Rate: £500 - £550 inside IR35
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases for functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing.
- Validate merchant onboarding journeys, our Accept application flows, payment processing, settlements, and terminal management capabilities.
- Execute testing across web, mobile (iOS & Android), API, and backend systems.
- Prepare detailed test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test execution reports.
- Perform API testing and integration testing across internal and third-party platforms.
- Support SIT, UAT, FOV (First Occurrence Validation), production releases, and post-release verification activities.
- Validate business-critical payment processing and settlement workflows.
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and operational testing to ensure end-to-end integrity.
- Identify, log, track, and verify defects through to closure using Jira or equivalent tools.
- Collaborate with developers and engineers to improve quality and test coverage throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and contribute to continuous testing practices.
- Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and post-release reviews.
- Ensure adherence to our security, governance, risk, and compliance requirements.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.

Preferred Experience
- Years of Quality Assurance / Testing experience.
- Experience within Banking, Financial Services, Payments, or Merchant Acquiring domains.
- Strong experience testing customer-facing mobile and web applications.
- Experience with card payments, merchant onboarding, and acquiring platforms.
- Experience supporting production releases, FOV testing, and incident investigations.
- Exposure to third-party payment providers is advantageous.
- Experience working within large-scale Agile delivery environments.
