Senior Quality Engineer | Contract

Contract Length: Initial 6 Months
Start Date: ASAP

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to support a major UK nuclear programme entering its final delivery phase.

We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer who can quickly integrate into an established project team and take ownership of critical quality assurance and documentation activities associated with the manufacture and delivery of equipment into the UK nuclear sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and approve Inspection Test Plans (ITPs)
  • Review LTQRs (Lifetime Quality Record)
  • Review Manufacturing Record Books and Quality Dossiers
  • Ensure documentation packages are complete and compliant prior to dispatch
  • Review supplier quality documentation and certification
  • Review supplier ITPs and inspection records
  • Support Supplier NCR meetings
  • Support Internal NCR investigations and reviews
  • Participate in client quality meetings where required
  • Support final quality release and acceptance activities

Essential Experience

  • Previous experience within the nuclear industry
  • Strong Quality Engineering background
  • Experience reviewing ITPs, LTQRs and manufacturing record packs
  • Understanding of material certification and inspection requirements
  • Knowledge of NCR management processes
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong document review and quality assurance experience

Desirable Experience

  • Previous AWE project experience
  • Sellafield or other highly regulated nuclear environment experience
  • Current or previously held SC Clearance preferred
  • Understanding of the Nuclear Quality Graded Approach
  • Knowledge of QC1, QC2 and QC3 classifications
