About The Role
We are seeking two Senior Quality Engineers to join our Mobile team at Lendable. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the quality and reliability of our mobile applications, primarily focusing on our flagship app, Zable. Zable is the primary touchpoint for most of our customers, providing access to loans, credit cards, car finance, mobile plans, subscriptions, and upcoming products, all within a unified platform. Built using React Native and TypeScript with a Kotlin backend, the app is deployed across iOS and Android from a single codebase and is already performing well. Our goal now is to elevate our quality engineering practices to enable faster release cycles without compromising on stability or customer experience.

This position emphasizes automation and AI-driven testing methodologies. You will spend most of your time developing test frameworks, CI tooling, and automation helpers rather than executing manual test scripts. Working closely with software engineers, product managers, and designers, you will help set strategic direction for quality assurance processes. Additionally, you will explore the latest AI tools, including large language models, to accelerate test authoring, failure analysis, and coverage insights, ensuring our testing practices are trustworthy and scalable.
In this role, your responsibilities will include defining and evolving a pragmatic mobile test strategy, building reliable end-to-end automation suites, integrating testing pipelines into our CI/CD workflows, and leveraging AI to streamline testing activities. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to prevent defects early in the development process, using observability tools to analyze production issues and ensure high-quality releases.
Qualifications
Essential:
- 6+ years of experience in quality engineering or test automation, with a proven track record of maintaining stable and effective automated test suites.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript, capable of building helpers, tooling, and debugging within the application environment.
- Hands-on experience with Appium, device farms, or emulator/simulator orchestration at scale.
- Practical knowledge of Maestro or Detox for mobile automation testing.
- Experience designing and shaping CI/CD pipelines to improve test reliability, reduce flakiness, and manage artifacts effectively, preferably using GitHub Actions or similar tools.
- Familiarity with mobile E2E automation, especially within React Native environments, or strong E2E experience on other platforms with a credible plan for rapid onboarding.
- Ability to operate independently, drive improvements across frameworks, CI, test data, and reporting processes.

Desirable:
- Hands-on experience testing React Native applications.
- Knowledge of mobile performance optimization, crash reporting, startup time, memory, and battery management.
- Experience with API and contract testing, including test data and environment strategies.
- Native mobile development fundamentals in Swift or Kotlin for troubleshooting React Native leaks.
- Prior experience in implementing AI-assisted testing practices, including test generation, failure clustering, and coverage analytics, with appropriate review controls.
Responsibilities
- Define, implement, and continuously improve the mobile test strategy, balancing coverage, speed, and reliability.
- Develop and maintain robust end-to-end automation suites using Maestro or similar frameworks, including test data management, device configuration, helpers, and reporting.
- Integrate automation suites into CI pipelines to provide rapid, trustworthy feedback for every pull request and release candidate.
- Implement strategies to reduce flakiness and improve diagnosis time for test failures, prioritizing root cause analysis over retries.
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate test authoring, failure analysis, and coverage insights, while maintaining trustworthiness.
- Partner with product and engineering teams early in the development cycle to ensure quality is embedded from the start—reviewing specs, clarifying acceptance criteria, and identifying risks.
