Senior Quality Engineer
We are partnering with an innovative advanced technology manufacturer operating within highly regulated sectors, including defence, aerospace, and scientific applications. Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, we are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to strengthen quality governance, enhance operational processes, and support future scale-up activities.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role for an individual who enjoys building robust quality frameworks, driving continuous improvement, and working closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems aligned with AQAP 2110 and ISO 9001 requirements.
- Support the introduction and ongoing management of functional safety processes in line with IEC 61508 standards.
- Establish and oversee incoming inspection and supplier quality controls.
- Produce and maintain quality metrics, reports, and compliance documentation.
- Lead supplier audits, performance reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Manage corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities through to successful resolution.
- Conduct internal audits and support external customer and certification audits.
- Collaborate with customers, engineering teams, and operational stakeholders to ensure quality expectations are met.
- Support sustainability, compliance, and governance initiatives, including ESG-related requirements.
- Assist in the development of quality processes that support business growth and manufacturing capability expansion.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects across production and engineering functions.

Requirements

- Previous experience within a Senior Quality Engineer, Lead Quality Engineer, or similar quality-focused position.
- Strong knowledge of NATO AQAP standards, particularly AQAP 2110.
- Experience implementing and maintaining ISO 9001 quality systems.
- Familiarity with IEC 61508 and regulated engineering environments.
- Excellent auditing, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
- Background supporting manufacturing, engineering, defence, aerospace, or other regulated industries.
- Self-motivated with the ability to introduce and improve processes within a growing business.
Working Arrangement
Primarily site-based, with some flexibility available for the right individual.
