About the Opportunity

A leading international food manufacturer is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Operations Manager to lead its site quality function. This is a senior leadership opportunity within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, responsible for driving food safety, quality standards and continuous improvement across the site.

Reporting to the Head of Quality, you will lead multiple quality disciplines, including Quality Assurance, Laboratory and Supplier Compliance, while working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest standards of product safety, legality and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the site's Quality Assurance, Laboratory and Supplier Compliance functions.
  • Drive a proactive food safety and quality culture across the manufacturing operation.
  • Ensure compliance with customer, legal and third-party accreditation requirements, including FSSC 22000.
  • Maintain and continually improve the site's Quality and Food Safety Management Systems.
  • Oversee GMP, hygiene, allergen management, traceability and foreign body controls.
  • Lead internal and external audit preparation, ensuring successful certification outcomes.
  • Manage quality incidents, investigations, CAPAs and root cause analysis.
  • Drive right-first-time quality initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
  • Work collaboratively with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement and Product Development teams.
  • Support new product introductions, factory trials and operational change projects from a quality perspective.
  • Monitor and report key quality KPIs while identifying opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Develop and coach a high-performing quality leadership team while supporting succession planning and capability development.

About You

We're looking for an experienced quality professional who can demonstrate:

  • Significant leadership experience within food manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety legislation and quality management systems.
  • Experience managing Quality Assurance, Laboratory and/or Supplier Quality teams.
  • A thorough understanding of FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP and allergen management.
  • Proven experience leading audits and maintaining certification standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • The ability to influence teams and drive positive cultural change.
