Python Quant Developer – Front Office Technology
London | Hybrid, 3 days per week
Contract | Inside IR35
£700-£900 per day
We are working with a leading global financial services organisation looking to hire an experienced Python Quant Developer into its Front Office Technology team.
This is a hands-on development role working directly with Front Office users, including Quants, Researchers and business stakeholders, to build and enhance quantitative applications, analytics and tooling.
The wider technology function is undergoing significant modernisation, with substantial investment in Python engineering, cloud-native technologies, data platforms and AI.
The Opportunity
- Develop and enhance Python applications, quantitative analytics and Front Office tooling.
- Work directly with Quants, Researchers and Front Office stakeholders to understand requirements and design technical solutions.
- Take ownership of development from initial requirements through implementation, testing and production delivery.
- Build and maintain applications supporting quantitative analysis and business-critical workflows.
- Improve existing applications, automate processes and develop reusable Python components.
- Work with financial data and integrate Python solutions with established Front Office systems.
- Contribute to improvements in performance, reliability and maintainability.
- Gain exposure to wider technology modernisation initiatives, including cloud-native engineering, modern data platforms and AI.

Required Experience
- Strong commercial Python development experience.
- Previous experience working directly with Front Office teams within financial services.
- Quant Development or quantitative technology experience.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building production applications.
- Ability to understand quantitative requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions.
- Comfortable taking ownership of development work and collaborating directly with business users.

Desirable Experience
- Python libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
- SQL, data processing and quantitative analytics.
- Experience with financial data, pricing, risk or other quantitative applications.
- AWS, Snowflake or other modern cloud and data technologies.
- CI/CD, automated testing and modern software engineering practices.
- Experience integrating with legacy applications in complex front office environments.
