Senior Systematic Power Trader / Pod Head (Power Products)

Experience:

7+ years, with a demonstrable track record of running own book

Markets:

European Power or US Power

Location:

Flexible / Global

Start Date:

ASAP

The Opportunity

We are working with a leading global proprietary trading firm looking to build out its systematic power trading platform by backing a senior power trader to establish and lead their own trading pod. The firm combines world-class research, technology, and execution infrastructure with significant capital and a highly entrepreneurial culture. Senior traders are given the autonomy, capital, and resources to build and scale their own teams and strategies, with compensation closely aligned to performance and pod-level P&L.

The Role

You will found and lead a systematic power trading pod across either European or US power markets, taking full ownership of strategy, risk, and team build-out. The firm is looking for a proven trader with a differentiated, scalable edge who is ready to move from running a book to running a business. You will define the pod’s strategy and research agenda, hire and manage researchers, developers, and junior traders, and retain ownership of P&L and risk. The firm provides the capital, technology, and infrastructure, allowing you to focus on building the pod and generating alpha.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
