About Man AHL
Man AHL focuses on employing diversified quantitative techniques, offering strategies that include traditional momentum, non-traditional momentum, multi-strategy, and sector-based approaches. These strategies, primarily alternative in nature, generate potential alpha through rigorous analysis of vast dataset trends.
AHEL’s approach combines scientific rigour, advanced technology, and execution, applying it to diverse data sources to build systematic investment strategies across global markets. The 150-person team—comprising 110 researchers—includes scientists, technologists, and finance practitioners. Driven by intellectual honesty and curiosity, the team tackling complex financial markets is supported by Oxford-Man Institute of Quantitative Finance (OMI), a collaboration with the University of Oxford.

The Team: AHL Macro
Responsible for Macro strategies, this team systematically trades futures and FX across different frequency tiers—ranging from intraday to monthly—while optimising predictive alpha.
Technical & Business Skills
-
3+ years of hands-on experience:
- Researching and trading live alpha signals for futures and FX (essential)
- Intraday to monthly signal design & analysis
- Portfolio construction and risk analysis
- Strong awareness of transaction costs and mitigation strategies

Proficiency in advanced coding (Python ecosystem preferred)

Experience in handling large-scale datasets for live trading/research
Personal Attributes
- Strong qualifications: Degree from a top institution in high-demand fields like Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or Physics, with robust mathematical/scientific focus
- Hands-on, proactive attitude—willing to multidisciplinary collaboration and contribute to technology initiatives
- Analytical rigor and independent problem-solving skill
- Self-driven with the ability to efficiently balance multiple projects under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal skills—capable of building strong relationships with researchers, technologists, traders, and senior stakeholders. Should also have mentoring abilities
- Clear communication skills: Can confidently articulate arguments and reconcile differing viewpoints
