Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Bowburn, Durham
TEXO Recruitment are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established organisation delivering a wide range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the North East, Tees Valley, Yorkshire and the Humber.
The business works in partnership with local authorities to deliver a variety of schemes, including public realm, highways, flood alleviation, active travel and bridge works, as well as major capital projects.
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to provide financial and commercial management across a range of civil engineering projects. The role will be responsible for ensuring accurate measurement, valuation, and cash flow management, supporting the successful delivery of each scheme. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and the highest commercial standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit interim payment applications and final accounts
- Strong knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts
- Manage early warnings, risk reduction and compensation events
- Assess and submit compensation event quotations
- Maintain accurate site records and commercial documentation
- Attend client meetings as required
- Produce project financial forecasts and commercial reports
- Manage subcontractor procurement, payments and valuations
- Support and mentor junior members of the QS team

Required:
- 10 years’ experience and a proven track record in the commercial environment
- HND, degree or equivalent
- Knowledge and experience in using civil engineering standard forms of contract including NEC3 and NEC4
- Competent in construction processes and procedures
- Experience of Microsoft and office IT packages
- Proven experience of working within different contract frameworks
- Experience in working with contract documentation specific to role
- Valid UK driving licence
