Wates Residential is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Cardiff, helping deliver high-quality affordable homes that transform communities.

As a developer-contractor, we invest, develop, build and sell quality affordable housing in partnership with Local Authorities, Registered Providers and public sector organisations.

About The Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll lead the commercial management of a major high-rise residential scheme, taking responsibility for procurement, cost control, valuations, change management and final accounts.

You'll

  • Manage subcontract procurement, payments and commercial performance.
  • Produce cost reports, forecasts and procurement updates.
  • Agree valuations and maintain positive project cashflow.
  • Manage contractual notices, variations and risk.
  • Support and develop junior commercial team members.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners.

About You

We're looking for someone with:

  • Quantity Surveying experience within residential or main contracting.
  • Experience delivering large-scale residential projects.
  • Strong commercial, contractual and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive approach and a passion for delivering successful projects.
