The Vacancy

CS2, part of RSK Group, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our rapidly growing team on a full-time permanent basis. This role is based out of our Manchester office.

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for providing a full project management services employers agent, quantity surveying and to the clients of the business across a range of sectors, as well as giving support and advice to other members of the Quantity Surveying Department.
  • Deliver project management, employer’s agent, and quantity surveying services, from developing client briefs to overseeing construction and completion. Responsibilities include:
    • Team selection
    • Design review
    • Tendering
    • Contract administration
    • Progress meetings
    • Inspections
    • Cost management including valuations and payment applications
  • Effectively communicate with both internal and external parties ensuring all information is available for the successful implementation and completion of projects.
  • Generate your own workload, maintaining relationships with existing clients and developing new client contacts and business opportunities.
  • Advise, manage and guide colleagues to ensure targets are achieved.
  • Develop relevant knowledge and skills through regular CPD activities and maintain an up-to-date awareness of all necessary legislation affecting the technical aspects of quantity surveying, sharing knowledge and information where appropriate.
  • Record CPD in accordance with RICS requirements.
  • Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business development.
  • Prepare and submit relevant administration in a timely and accurate manner, for example timesheets, expenses, database applications etc.
  • Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility.
  • Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to health and safety, and quality management.

Person Specification

  • A relevant RICS accredited university degree.
  • Membership of RICS (MRICS).
  • Experience of dealing with and providing advice on a range of building related matters.
  • Understanding client needs.
  • Being commercially aware.
  • Prioritise own workload.
  • Confident communicator.
  • Ability to work individually or in a team.
  • Effective negotiating skills.
  • Fee target achievement.
