Leading Civil Engineering & Concrete Frame Contractor
Are you a Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong experience in RC frames and structural works? Looking to take full ownership of projects while working with a forward-thinking contractor? This could be the role for you.
Our client is working with a well-established construction and civil engineering business that is expanding its commercial team in Newport. Client is looking for a commercially astute QS who can drive projects from pre-construction through to final account, while working closely with operational teams and clients.

The Role
You’ll play a pivotal role across both tendering and live projects, taking responsibility for cost control, procurement, and commercial delivery. Key duties include:
- Leading tendering and estimating activities, including take-offs and BoQs
- Managing procurement of subcontractors and materials
- Producing and presenting CVRs and cost reports
- Overseeing the full commercial lifecycle from contract award to final account
- Administering contracts under NEC and JCT forms
- Building strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
What Client is Looking For
- More than 10 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction
- Strong background in RC frames, concrete structures, or civils
- Proven track record in contractor-side commercial management
- Experience in estimating and pre-construction activities
- Strong understanding of NEC and/or JCT contracts
- Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation, and reporting skills
- A proactive, solutions-driven approach
