Senior Quantity Surveyor, Manchester
Up to £80,000 + Company Electric Car
Manchester
Monday to Friday 7.30am–5.00pm
Civil Engineering | Groundworks | Infrastructure
An established and growing civil engineering and groundworks contractor is looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Manchester.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially focused QS who wants to take a senior role within a growing business and have a genuine influence on its commercial operations and systems.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with Contracts Managers, Site Managers, and the wider operational team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing applications for payment and client invoicing
- Pricing and managing variations, design changes, and additional works
- Monitoring project costs, budgets, and expenditure
- Preparing and monitoring cost to complete (CTC) forecasts
- Managing labour, plant, materials, and subcontract costs
- Preparing valuations and commercial reports
- Managing project final accounts
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
- Working closely with operational teams to maintain strong cost control
- Developing and improving internal commercial and costing systems
- Playing a key role in the implementation and development of Eque2

What We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from Quantity Surveyors with experience in:
- Civil engineering
- Groundworks
- Infrastructure
- Residential development
You'll ideally have HNC-level qualifications in Construction or Civil Engineering and proven experience managing valuations, applications for payment, variations, forecasting, and final accounts.
