Senior Quantity Surveyor - Bridgewater

Full-time, Permanent - Competitive Salary + Car/Car Allowance + Flexible Benefits

Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to manage the contractual and financial elements of major projects? Do you have experience of Power, Substation or Infrastructure related projects using NEC contracts? Ready to lead and support successful P&L, cash flow, and working capital management across large electrical and civil works?

A leading organisation is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Major Projects team. This role is based near Bridgewater and offers the chance to work on significant projects with future opportunities for growth. Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial success of large-scale projects.

Your Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Provide leadership within the commercial team and wider project teams.
  • Manage multiple contracts under NEC3/4, JCT, and bespoke agreements.
  • Measure and value works for applications, variations, and final accounts.
  • Identify and notify Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and manage CVRs.
  • Chair monthly project reviews and attend client progress meetings.
  • Manage invoicing, debt recovery, and dispute resolution.
  • Oversee supply chain management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support the development of the wider commercial team.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or similar role.
  • Strong commercial performance management experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of NEC3/4 contracts and practical application.
  • Civil engineering and construction experience (desirable).
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (or HNC with relevant experience).
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables).
