Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: East London
Salary: Up to £75,000 + car allowance + bonus
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
Sector: Property Services / Social Housing / Planned Works
A leading property services contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team in East London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially strong QS with experience across social housing, planned works and high-rise residential projects to take responsibility for a varied portfolio of significant refurbishment schemes.
The successful candidate will work across complex external works projects, including façade, roofing and building envelope refurbishment.
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial performance of a portfolio of planned works projects, working closely with operational teams, subcontractors and client stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the commercial and financial performance of multiple planned works projects
- Working on large-scale and complex refurbishment schemes across high-rise residential buildings
- Preparing and reviewing valuations, cost reports, forecasts and CVRs
- Managing subcontractor accounts, applications, payments and final accounts
- Managing variations, ensuring accurate pricing and robust commercial justification
- Supporting project budgets, cashflow forecasting and cost control
- Working closely with operational teams to ensure commercial and delivery objectives are aligned
- Managing commercial risks and identifying opportunities to improve project performance
- Ensuring compliance with contract requirements, schedules of rates and client processes
- Supporting audits, commercial reporting and internal governance

About You
We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor who has a strong background within property services or social housing, ideally with experience working on high-rise residential buildings.
You should have:
- Proven experience as a QS or Senior QS within social housing/property services
- Experience working across planned works or framework contracts
- Experience with high-rise residential refurbishment or external works
- Strong commercial and cost-control skills
- Experience managing subcontractor accounts, valuations and final accounts
- Good understanding of contractual and commercial processes
- Experience managing variations and commercial risk
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Good Excel and commercial systems knowledge

Experience working with local authorities, housing associations or housing frameworks would be advantageous.
A relevant HNC, HND or degree qualification is desirable but not essential.
