Senior Quantity Surveyor
We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Highways Maintenance team in Wymondham, Norfolk. In this senior commercial role, you'll drive the commercial performance of your given workstreams on our Norfolk highways maintenance contract, ensuring value, profitability and effective risk management.
Working closely with operational teams, clients and supply chain partners, you'll provide commercial insight, lead a team of quantity surveying professionals, and help deliver a high-quality service that keeps Norfolk's road network moving.

Hours
Permanent Fulltime 37.5 hours per week – condensed hours and flexible working arrangements are available just let us know when you speak to us

Responsibilities
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be responsible for ensuring effective cost control, contractual compliance, commercial risk management, and the achievement of business performance objectives across a portfolio of routine, reactive and planned highway maintenance works. - Managing commercial performance of highways maintenance and improvement schemes, including valuations, applications for payment and final accounts
- Monitoring project costs, forecasts and budgets, producing accurate Cost Value Reconciliations
- Managing compensation events, change control and early warning processes in accordance with NEC4 contracts
- Procuring and managing subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance and performance standards are met
- Mentoring and supporting commercial team members, promoting continuous improvement and best practice
What are we looking for?
This role of Senior Quantity Surveyor is ideal for someone who:
- Holds a degree, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- Brings extensive experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor role within highways maintenance, civil engineering, infrastructure, or major construction projects
- Has strong working knowledge of NEC4 contracts, particularly the NEC4 Term Service Contract (TSC), with the ability to apply contractual principles effectively in a live project environment
- Demonstrates excellent commercial awareness, with experience managing budgets, forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting
- Excels at building relationships, influencing stakeholders, and negotiating successful commercial outcomes through clear and confident communication
