Senior Quantity Surveyor | Rail Infrastructure | York (Hybrid) | Up to £75,000

Location: York (3 days per week)
Salary: Up to £75,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to play a key role in delivering one of the UK's most significant rail infrastructure programmes?

We're recruiting on behalf of a leading international engineering consultancy for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of the Development and Design Partnership Framework (DDPF), working on the prestigious Northern Powerhouse Rail (NPR) programme.

This is an opportunity to lead the commercial delivery of high-value rail and infrastructure projects while working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team that offers genuine career progression, flexible hybrid working and an outstanding benefits package.

The Role

As the Lead Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager on framework commissions, you'll provide commercial leadership across multiple projects, ensuring robust cost control, contract administration and commercial governance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading commercial activities across major rail and infrastructure projects.
  • Managing project budgets, forecasts and cost reporting.
  • Administering NEC3/NEC4 contracts, including Compensation Events, Early Warnings and Change Management.
  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities while protecting project profitability.
  • Supporting procurement, subcontract management and commercial negotiations.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, delivery partners and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Mentoring junior commercial professionals and supporting their development.

About You

We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Chartered status (MRICS or equivalent), or 15+ years' Quantity Surveying experience.
  • Strong experience within rail, transport or major infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
  • Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to work from the York office three days per week.
