We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Kier Places – Building Solutions team based in Basingstoke or Southampton.

Location: Basingstoke or Southampton

Hours: 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Building Solutions South portfolio, where you'll manage the commercial resources of projects predominately involving refurbishments of existing buildings. You'll play a key role in maximising project profitability, managing commercial relationships, and supporting a collaborative team environment. Working on projects typically valued between £5m - £15m, you'll be part of a business that values long-term relationships and is recognised as a leader in delivering high-quality construction projects for government departments and blue-chip clients.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, You'll Be Working Within The Kier Places – Building Solutions Team, Supporting Them In Delivering High-quality Projects Whilst Maximising Commercial Success. Your Day To Day Will Include

  • Managing commercial resources to maximise planned gross margin through effective contract placement and control
  • Tendering, evaluating and appointing subcontractors, and placing orders for materials and plant within delegated authorities
  • Identifying, negotiating and agreeing project variations with customers and suppliers
  • Measuring and valuing work to support customer invoicing and supplier payments whilst positively managing project cash flows
  • Leading and motivating commercial staff whilst building collaborative relationships with customers, consultants and the supply chain

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:

  • You have strong communication skills with demonstrable experience working effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients and supply chains
  • You hold relevant qualifications such as a Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying
  • You have proven experience in a similar commercial role within construction
  • You possess excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
  • You are confident using IT packages including Microsoft Office and bespoke systems
