Senior Quantity Surveyor

As our work across the New Build, Social Housing and Commercial sectors continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding Commercial Team at our Head Office in Dunfermline.

Reporting directly to the Head of Commercial, you will take ownership of significant contracts across Scotland and Northern England, while contributing to commercial decision-making, project delivery and business improvement.

The Role

This is more than a traditional quantity surveying position. You will take commercial ownership of key contracts from mobilisation through to final account, working closely with clients, senior management and operational teams.

  • Manage commercial performance across multiple contracts.
  • Prepare and agree valuations, variations and final accounts.
  • Lead contract mobilisation, negotiation and subcontractor procurement.
  • Produce cost forecasts, budgets and commercial reports.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, the supply chain and key stakeholders.
  • Support commercial best practice and continuous improvement.

About You

You will ideally be degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, with experience managing commercial contracts within the construction sector.

  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Confident communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • The ability to manage multiple contracts and priorities effectively.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and a desire to make a genuine impact.

Experience in new build, social housing, commercial construction, windows and doors, or the building envelope would be advantageous but is not essential. Full training will be provided on CR Smith systems and proprietary software.
