We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Kier Places - Building Solutions team based in Basingstoke or Southampton.

Location: Basingstoke or Southampton

Hours: 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

Join our dynamic team as a Senior Quantity Surveyor where you'll play a key role in managing the commercial aspects of exciting construction projects. Working on projects ranging from £5m to £15m, you'll be part of a collaborative environment that values long-term relationships and high-quality delivery. What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, You'll Be Working Within The Building Solutions Team, Supporting Them In Maximising Project Profitability And Delivering Exceptional Value To Clients. Your Day To Day Will Include

  • Managing commercial resources and maximising planned gross margin through effective contract placement and control
  • Tendering, evaluating and appointing subcontractors, and placing orders for materials and plant
  • Identifying, negotiating and agreeing project variations with customers and suppliers
  • Measuring, valuing and agreeing work progress to support customer invoicing and supplier payments
  • Leading and motivating the project's commercial staff whilst building collaborative relationships with clients and the supply chain

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:

  • You have a relevant qualification such as a Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying
  • You possess clear communication skills with experience working across multidisciplinary teams, clients and supply chains
  • You have experience in a similar role with strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
  • You're confident using IT packages including Microsoft Office and bespoke software systems
  • You're flexible, collaborative and willing to undertake training and development to progress your career
