Job Description: Senior Quantity Surveyor
FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading infrastructure services provider within the Water and Wastewater sector for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Capital Delivery team working across major water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
This is a Hybrid position working in the Rickmansworth area.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of multiple capital projects, ensuring effective cost control, contract compliance, risk management, and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Working within the Water and Wastewater Capital Delivery team, you will collaborate with project, operational, procurement and finance teams to support the successful delivery of large-scale capital programmes while maintaining high commercial standards and driving value across the business.

Responsibilities
- Produce accurate contract-compliant valuations and applications for payment across multiple projects
- Monitor certifications, payments and cash receipts to support effective cash flow management
- Administer NEC3/NEC4 contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and procedures
- Prepare and manage contractual notices, communications and correspondence
- Review valuation submissions and resolve commercial disputes, non-compliance issues and payment queries
- Provide guidance and support to junior commercial team members, promoting best practice and commercial excellence
- Manage project costs and financial performance to ensure budgetary control and margin improvement
- Validate financial data, maintain accurate accruals and support robust financial reporting processes
- Oversee subcontract administration, including procurement support, valuations, payments and commercial management
- Develop effective working relationships with supply chain partners, subcontractors and project teams
- Support cost planning, budgeting and change management activities throughout project delivery
- Contribute to risk and opportunity reviews, identifying actions to maximise commercial performance
- Produce accurate cash flow forecasts, cost/value reconciliations and revenue projections
- Prepare and present regular Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports and commercial updates
- Maintain accurate commercial records, registers and supporting documentation
- Monitor KPI and SLA performance, providing commercial insight into project performance and trends
- Ensure all reporting is accurate, timely and compliant with company procedures and client requirements
- Take ownership of personal performance, embracing continuous improvement and collaborative working practices

Required Skills And Experience
- Experience within a Quantity Surveying role in the construction, infrastructure or utilities sector
- Strong working knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts
- Good commercial awareness with a strong understanding of cost management processes and principles
- Strong numerical, analytical and financial management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial management systems
- Experience administering subcontractor accounts and managing supply chain relationships
- Ability to identify, assess and escalate commercial risks and issues effectively
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to build effective relationships across operational, finance, procurement and project teams
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent relevant experience
- Full UK Driving Licence
