Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Glasgow, Scotland
Salary: £60,000 to £74,000 + car & package
A leading main contractor is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial ownership of a high-profile infrastructure project in Glasgow. The scheme involves delivery of a new waste water treatment plant and sludge processing facility, representing a flagship investment in Scotland's water infrastructure.
Role Overview
This is a site-based position, where the Senior Quantity Surveyor will act as the commercial lead, ensuring financial control, contract compliance, and effective risk management. The role requires close collaboration with the site delivery team to secure cost, programme, and quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all commercial and contractual management on the project
- Manage subcontract procurement, administration, payments, and final accounts
- Deliver accurate cost forecasting, valuations, and commercial reporting
- Ensure full compliance with NEC3 contracts
- Oversee risk, change, and claims management to protect project and business interests
- Partner with project leadership to achieve delivery targets

Essential Requirements
- Proven track record as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment
- Strong working knowledge of NEC3 contracts
- Background in infrastructure, utilities, or civil engineering projects
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Detail-focused and proactive approach to commercial leadership
Desirable
- Experience delivering projects within the water sector
- Professional membership or working towards chartership (RICS, ICES, or equivalent)
