About the Role

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking for greater responsibility, exposure to business leaders and a clear route into management?

We're recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for an established national property services contractor. Based in Warrington, this is a high-profile role reporting into key senior figures, giving you direct exposure to business leaders and the opportunity to influence commercial performance across the North West operation.

For someone interested in branch leadership, progression into a Branch Manager role is an expected career route within 18 months to two years, subject to performance and business opportunities.

The Role

You'll take commercial ownership of multiple live contracts, working closely with clients, operational teams and senior management to control costs, protect margins and deliver accurate forecasts.

Mentoring junior team members is a central part of this position. You'll support Quantity Surveyors, Assistants, Graduates and Trainees, helping them develop their technical skills, commercial judgement and confidence.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Managing contracts commercially from commencement through to final account.
  • Leading CVRs, work in progress, forecasting, cash flow, cost control and commercial risk management.
  • Overseeing tendering, subcontractor procurement, valuations, payment applications, variations and final accounts.
  • Leading client negotiations, protecting the business's contractual position and resolving commercial issues.
  • Coaching junior colleagues through regular development conversations, clear expectations and practical support.
  • Working closely with operational teams and business leaders to improve contract performance and profitability.

What You'll Bring

  • You'll have at least five years Quantity Surveying experience and a track record of managing multiple contracts or high-volume workstreams.
  • Experience in social housing, planned maintenance, refurbishment, retrofit, decarbonisation or property services would transfer particularly well.
  • Strong CVR, forecasting, cost control and financial reporting skills
  • Experience managing subcontractors, valuations, variations and final accounts
  • Confidence leading client negotiations and challenging commercial positions
  • Experience mentoring, supervising or managing junior commercial colleagues
  • Strong Excel, analytical and communication skills
  • A collaborative approach and a full UK driving licence
  • A relevant degree and knowledge of JCT, NEC or SBCC contracts would be advantageous. RICS accreditation is welcomed but isn't essential.
