Senior Quantity Surveyor | London | £65m-£120m Projects
A well-established main contractor is hiring a Senior QS to take commercial ownership of major JCT Design & Build projects in London.
You'll join the senior site management team with regular access to Company Directors, and depending on your experience, you'll either lead the commercial function solo or manage a team of QSs.
What you'll do
- Procurement: Buy out all packages against the Employer's Requirements, close scope gaps and overlaps with the PM, run pre-order meetings, and issue JCT subcontracts
- Subcontractor management: Assess applications, issue payment notices, manage valuations and variations, and agree final accounts
- Reporting: Deliver monthly cost reports and cash flow forecasts, plus fortnightly prelim and weekly waste trackers to the Directors
- Client and contract: Price variations, handle contractual correspondence on delays and non-conformances, and present at monthly progress meetings
- Site controls: Manage consultant appointments, warranties, daywork and labour agency checks, direct purchase tracking, and O&M handover

What you'll bring
- Strong JCT Traditional and D&B contract knowledge
- Track record delivering projects in the £65m+ range
- Sharp commercial and analytical skills, including cost reporting and package measurement/BoQ preparation
- The confidence to negotiate hard with subcontractors and hold your own in client meetings
- Experience mentoring and leading junior commercial staff
- Integrity and sound judgement
