Senior Quantity Surveyor – M&E
Working for a leading M&E contractor, supporting the commercial delivery of a major healthcare project in the North East.
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £70,000 to £76,500 + Car
Working pattern: Hybrid working, including a blend of office, site and home working depending on project requirements.
Role Description
The Resolute Group is working in partnership with a leading M&E contractor to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor.
This is an excellent opportunity to take a key commercial role on a major healthcare development in the North East. You will lead the commercial delivery of MEP works throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring robust cost control, contract compliance, and supply-chain performance.
You will work as part of an established commercial team and have the opportunity to support and mentor junior colleagues. The wider business has a strong pipeline of healthcare and building-services work, providing genuine long-term career development.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial delivery of MEP works on a major healthcare project.
- Manage commercial activities from project commencement through to final account.
- Carry out measurement and valuation of works, including variations and final accounts.
- Prepare and maintain Cost Value Reconciliations, cost reports, cash-flow forecasts, and cost-to-complete assessments.
- Manage project cash flow and maximize commercial performance.
- Procure, manage, and agree subcontractor and supplier accounts.
- Oversee change management, including the preparation, submission, and agreement of variations.
- Ensure full compliance with NEC and/or JCT contractual requirements and internal commercial governance.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, supply-chain partners, and internal project teams.
- Support and mentor junior Quantity Surveyors within the commercial team.
Qualifications / Experience
- HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a relevant construction-related discipline.
- Significant Quantity Surveying experience within M&E, MEP, or building-services contracting.
- Strong experience of cost control, monthly reporting, subcontractor management, and change management.
- Experience preparing CVRs, cash-flow forecasts, and cost-to-complete reports.
- Good working knowledge of NEC and/or JCT forms of contract; NEC Option C experience would be advantageous.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience working in live environments or on healthcare projects would be advantageous.
- Valid CSCS card.
- Full UK right to work.
- Full driving licence preferred.
