🚀 Senior Quantity Surveyor & Quantity Surveyor – Civil Engineering & Infrastructure

📍 UK | 🏗️ Contractor-Side / Site-Based | 💰 up to £65k + Package

What if your next role gave you genuine commercial ownership of major civil engineering projects, working directly for a tier one contractor rather than from a client or consultancy perspective?

I'm working with a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor & Senior Quantity Surveyor to provide commercial leadership across major projects within sectors including water, transport, energy, and infrastructure.

This is a hands-on contractor-side role where you'll be responsible for CVRs, forecasting, subcontractor management, procurement, NEC contracts, and commercial risk, working closely with operational teams to protect margins and drive project performance.

🔧 The Role:

  • Take commercial ownership of projects from a contractor-side perspective
  • Produce and manage accurate monthly CVRs, cost plans, forecasts and commercial reports
  • Lead cost control, cash flow management, and financial forecasting
  • Manage NEC and other main contract and subcontract agreements
  • Lead subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and post-contract management
  • Manage subcontractor accounts, including measurement, payment applications, certificates, accruals, and final accounts
  • Chair regular commercial meetings with subcontractors and manage supply chain performance
  • Prepare upstream applications for payment and ensure strong cash recovery
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities throughout project delivery
  • Work closely with Project Managers and site teams to drive commercial performance
  • Provide commercial guidance to operational teams and support junior commercial staff
  • Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and wider project stakeholders

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
