Senior Quantity Surveyor Opportunity – Northern Ireland Based

Mivan is a dynamic and progressive specialist joinery and interior fit-out contractor with a reputation for excellence and innovation. We are currently looking for an experienced and driven Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage the project budgets in order to attain commercial targets & provide commercial support to the Project Manager.

Candidates should have extensive experience on new build and fit out type projects as a senior surveyor, and a third level Quantity Surveying qualification or construction related discipline. The ideal candidate will be commercially astute with strong leadership and people management skills and the ability to negotiate and influence.

Main Duties

  • Responsible for the management, training, and development of the project’s commercial resources
  • Preparation & management of the project budget
  • Procurement of subcontractors and agreement of subcontract conditions
  • Commercial control of subcontract packages
  • Value and agree the cost of any variations
  • Prepare cost, value, and reconciliation monthly reports on each assigned project
  • With regards to estimate build up costs for each element of the work, identify labour, material requirements, and source and obtain quotations where applicable.
  • Liaise with purchasing / buying for specialist providers
  • Attend internal hand-over meetings
  • Provide feedback information to Business Development regarding tender values vs. actual costs
  • Maintain working relationships with the client and project team
  • Providing contractual advice to the Project Manager

Requirements

  • Extensive experience on new build and fit out type projects as a senior surveyor
  • Experience dealing with sub-contractors and clients and their representatives at a senior level
  • Third Level Quantity Surveying qualification or construction related discipline
  • Good commercial attitude and drive
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good IT skills - Excel, Word & Outlook
  • Willing to travel as travel to UK sites will be required
