We're working with a highly regarded, employee-owned specialist contractor looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team.
The business delivers major, technically complex construction and infrastructure projects across the UK, including structural engineering, transport infrastructure, structural steelwork, reinforced concrete and projects within highly regulated and constrained environments.
The role
You'll take a senior commercial role on a major project, working closely with the operational team, subcontractors and client to ensure strong commercial performance throughout delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing monthly CVRs, forecasts, valuations and commercial reporting
- Monitoring project costs, margins, commercial risks and opportunities
- Leading claims, variations and final account negotiations
- Managing subcontract procurement, payments and commercial performance
- Providing clear commercial and contractual advice to the project team
- Supporting audits and ensuring robust commercial controls are maintained
- Working closely with operational teams to ensure commercial and project delivery remain aligned
- Supporting tendering and providing commercial input into bids where required
- Managing commercial issues and disputes professionally and commercially
- Supporting and developing Assistant and Project Quantity Surveyors

What we're looking for
- Strong Quantity Surveying experience within construction or specialist contracting
- Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge
- Experience managing CVRs, forecasting, valuations, variations, claims and final accounts
- Experience on infrastructure, structural steel, reinforced concrete, rail, M&E or other technically complex projects would be advantageous
- Strong negotiation, communication and client-facing skills
- Degree/HND in Quantity Surveying or equivalent industry experience
- Commercially astute, confident and able to take ownership of project performance
