We're recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join us at Octavius.

This is an opportunity to take a lead commercial role on the A46 Walsgrave Junction upgrade, a major highways scheme near Coventry that will transform a key stretch of the Midlands road network. The project will replace the existing junction with a new grade-separated solution, improving capacity, safety and journey reliability on one of the region's most important routes.

With construction starting this year and running through to 2028, you'll be joining at the right time to influence how the project is delivered.

You'll be working on…

  • A high-value earthworks / groundworks package (circa £17–18m) as part of a wider £130m scheme.

You'll take ownership of the commercial performance of your package from the early stages through to delivery; managing subcontractors, overseeing cost reporting and forecasting, administering change, and ensuring the project team has clear, accurate commercial insight throughout.

This is a role where you'll have the space to run your package, while still being part of a wider commercial team that is visible, engaged and working closely together to deliver the project.

You'll work with…

  • A collaborative project team delivering a flagship National Highways scheme.

You'll be working alongside operational and engineering teams on a daily basis, building strong relationships with supply chain partners and contributing to a culture where commercial thinking is embedded across delivery.

You'll report into an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor, with regular interaction across the commercial team, so while you'll have autonomy, you'll also have the support and challenge that comes from a strong, present team around you.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
