Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Commercial Leadership: Manage internal/external commercial aspects of projects across various contractual agreements
- Strategic Support: Work closely with Senior Project Managers to meet commission obligations and internal performance targets
- Advisory & Stakeholder Liaison: Guide Project Teams, Design Managers, and Client Representatives on commercial matters, contract administration, and project deliverables (time, budget, quality).
- Change & Procurement: Oversee procurement of Sub Consultants, monitor and approve invoices, and administer workstreams effectively across project lifecycles.
- Team Development: Mentor colleagues in cost and commercial management, championing best practices and tools (ERP, billing, reporting processes).
- Business Impact: Contribute to securing repeat business and fostering high-quality deliverable development.
Candidate Specification
Essential
- NEC3/4 accreditation or substantial experience in related contracts.
- Proven leadership in commercial management of infrastructure and built environment developments, with significant experience leading diverse programmes.
- Highways or major infrastructure background preferred.
- Degree in Accountancyology/Finance, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or equivalent.
- Chartered Membership with RICS, ICES, or equivalent.
- Ability to thrive within multi-disciplinary environments.
- Skills in:
- Workpackage labour estimate creation, work streams billing, and P/L (Profit/Loss) management.
- Contract administration, subcontractor financial oversight, cost reconciliation, and project-level P/L reporting.
- Data-driven cost and contract workflows in ERP systems, adaptable to customer-facing reporting.
- Training teams to adopt efficient cost administration and contract procedures.
- High performance under pressure, combined with excellent presentation, time management, and communication skills.
