Senior Quantity Surveyor
Cambridge / Flexible Working
£55,000 – £70,000 + Package + 10% New Business Bonus
The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing, independent Chartered Surveying consultancy with an established reputation across the care, retirement living, residential and healthcare sectors.
The business has ambitious growth plans, a strong pipeline of secured projects and works with a range of leading care operators, developers and organisations across the UK.
This role would suit a Senior QS who enjoys taking ownership of projects and client relationships while working within a smaller, entrepreneurial consultancy where there is genuine opportunity to influence the future growth of the business.
The Role
You will take responsibility for the commercial and cost management delivery of projects from initial feasibility and cost planning through procurement, construction and final account.
Projects will predominantly sit within the care home, retirement living and wider residential/multi-bed sectors, including both new-build and refurbishment schemes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
