Senior Quantity Surveyor
North East | Up to £85,000 Package (Including Car Allowance)
A growing and well-established main contractor is looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its expanding commercial team in the North East.
With a strong pipeline of secured work across a range of commercial construction projects, this is an excellent opportunity to take the commercial lead on your own schemes while working within a supportive and ambitious business. You'll be responsible for managing the full commercial lifecycle of projects, working closely with operational teams to ensure successful delivery and strong financial performance.
This role offers a clear progression pathway into a Managing Quantity Surveyor position, making it ideal for an ambitious Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in their career.
The Role
- Lead the commercial delivery of projects from pre-construction through to final account.
- Manage procurement, subcontractor packages, valuations, variations, and cost reporting.
- Monitor project performance and ensure commercial targets are achieved.
- Prepare and present accurate forecasts, financial reports, and cash flow projections.
- Work closely with site and project management teams to drive project success.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Support and mentor junior commercial team members where required.

Requirements
- Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, or a Quantity Surveyor ready to step up.
- Proven track record working for a main contractor on commercial construction projects.
- Experience acting as the commercial lead on projects.
- Strong understanding of contract administration, cost control, and risk management.
- Experience managing subcontractor accounts, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and client-facing skills.
- Ambition to progress into a Managing Quantity Surveyor role.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline is desirable.
