Location: Doncaster / South Yorkshire – Hybrid

About the Opportunity
EVEREC is working with a growing UK contractor looking to appoint its first dedicated Senior Quantity Surveyor following an increase in workload and a growing pipeline of projects. This is a newly created position, offering the opportunity to take ownership of the commercial management of projects, work closely with senior leadership and help shape the commercial function as the business continues to expand.
We're looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong commercial background in construction or project delivery. Previous experience in electrical infrastructure, energy or EV charging is not essential. We welcome applications from candidates across construction, civil engineering, M&E, utilities, energy, infrastructure and other project-based environments.
We're more interested in your practical experience, commercial judgement and ability to manage projects than specific qualifications or industry backgrounds.
With a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming work, this is an opportunity to join an ambitious business at an exciting stage of growth, with the autonomy to make a real impact from day one.
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of multiple projects, overseeing costs, contracts, subcontractors and financial performance from pre-construction through to final account.
You'll work closely with Project Managers, Estimators, operational teams and senior management to ensure projects are delivered commercially, risks are managed and profitability is maintained.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
