About The Role
At Balfour Beatty Power Transmission & Distribution, we are helping to deliver the infrastructure that will power the UK's transition to a cleaner, more secure energy future. We work in partnership with major network operators to deliver complex and critical electricity transmission and distribution projects, including substations, overhead lines, underground cabling and renewable energy connections.
Due to continued growth across our National Grid portfolio and a strong pipeline of future work, we are recruiting a number of Senior Quantity Surveyors to support major infrastructure projects across England. Opportunities are available within a range of projects and frameworks, particularly across the North East, Doncaster Triangle and Norwich regions.

What you'll be doing
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in the commercial management of major infrastructure projects, ensuring value is maximised whilst maintaining the highest standards of governance and commercial control.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Commercial management of a major project or portfolio of projects.
- Management of project costs, risks and opportunities.
- Procurement and management of the supply chain.
- Preparation and ownership of Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
- Contract administration and change management.
- Management and agreement of subcontractor accounts.
- Supporting work-winning and commercial strategy activities.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers and project teams.
- Mentoring and developing junior commercial team members.
- Supporting the successful delivery of the Gated Business Lifecycle process.
Who we're looking for
We're keen to speak with commercially driven professionals who have experience working within infrastructure, utilities, energy or major construction projects.

You'll Ideally Have
- Experience operating at Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor level.
- Strong commercial and financial management skills.
- Experience procuring and managing subcontractors.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary project teams.
- A desire to develop yourself and those around you.
- Experience working within NEC forms of contract (preferred).
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification/experience.
