Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Flexible / Hybrid – London, South East & surrounding regions
Regular site travel and periodic team meetings

About the opportunity

Our client is a well-established, highly regarded, successful, and profitable privately owned main contractor working with major blue-chip corporate customers across commercial construction, distribution / logistics, industrial, refurbishment, and retail projects.

With significant secured work and a strong pipeline of further opportunities, they are now seeking to add further experienced commercial talent to their team, reporting directly to the Commercial Director.

The precise title and scope can reflect the successful individual’s experience. Whilst Senior Quantity Surveyor is likely to be the sweet spot, we are equally interested in experienced Quantity Surveyors and hands-on Commercial Managers who bring the right breadth of construction experience and commercial capability.

The company’s projects are varied, ranging from multiple smaller repeat-customer projects and refurbishments through to substantial new-build and redevelopment schemes.

These are important roles within a growing business and offer considerable autonomy, attractive remuneration, and excellent longer-term prospects.

As the business and commercial team continue to grow, there should also be opportunities for successful individuals to broaden their remit and, if desired, take on greater mentoring and team leadership responsibility.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
