Your new company

A leading contractor operating within the UK energy and infrastructure sector is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a major programme of works. The business is looking for an experienced commercial professional who can provide leadership, drive commercial performance, and support the development of a growing team.

Your new role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of the commercial delivery of a significant project within the energy sector, operating under NEC contracts.

This is a leadership-focused role where you will be expected to hit the ground running, manage key commercial functions, mentor a team of Quantity Surveyors, and work closely with senior operational and commercial stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading commercial activities across a major energy infrastructure project.
  • Managing NEC contract administration, compensation events, and change control.
  • Producing cost reports, forecasts, CVRs, and financial reporting.
  • Managing subcontractor accounts and final accounts.
  • Identifying commercial risks and implementing mitigation measures.
  • Mentoring and supporting a team of four Quantity Surveyors.
  • Driving commercial best practice and performance across the project.
  • Resolving complex commercial and contractual issues.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
