We currently require an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to work alongside an already established team on various Ground Investigation schemes at various locations across Scotland. As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be based out of our regional office in Kilsyth, Glasgow but with the expectation to periodically visit sites as part of the role.
Making Possible
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the following:
- Maintain high personal safety and environmental standards in accordance with Company policy
- Maintain effective communication with peers and managers
- Provide commercial advice and support to the team at all stages from pre-construction to project hand-back
- Commercial management for dispute avoidance
- Working with the operational team to monitor project and departmental costs
- Prepare monthly cost and value reports including risk management, quarterly reports and present to senior management
- Take part in discussions concerning project performance and provide commercial input to project strategy
- Understand and promote usage of Company Procedures
- Risk and opportunity management including identification and assessment of risks and opportunity both internally and externally
- Change management including assessing and agreeing change with the client
- Ensure timely production of appropriate levels of applications for payments
- Attend and provide input to all site required meetings
- Manage time effectively working on multiple projects of varying value, in a structured manner

What do you bring to the role?
Necessary:
- Successful experience at Senior Quantity Surveyor level with a minimum of 5 years+ experience working for tier 1 or 2 contractors (other backgrounds may be considered)
- Understanding of basic contract law and contractual obligations with strong commercial awareness
- Member of a Professional Institution or working towards application of the ICES, (or similar) preferred
- Open Collaborative approach and willing to help and assist those around you
- Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Mobility to attend sites across Scotland in a visiting capacity
- Educated to Degree level in a relevant Commercial, Construction or Project Management qualification (preferred but not essential)
Desirable:
- Experience of a similar role, with good knowledge of Ground Investigation.
