SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR
£60,000 - £80,000 + Car Allowance
Full Time | 37.5 hours per week within a 7.30 am - 5.30 pm working window (Most office-based staff work 8.30 am - 5.00 pm, with site teams starting and finishing earlier)

About the Client
Our client is a long-established, family-owned construction business with over 150 years of history, delivering high-quality projects across commercial, education, industrial, heritage, blue light and leisure sectors. They operate across the Home Counties, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire and North London, delivering projects through two divisions: Small Works & Frameworks (up to £1m) and Main Contracts (up to £15m).
They are now seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a permanent basis.
Working closely with project management teams, the role oversees day-to-day quantity surveying and commercial management on projects up to £15m. Responsibilities include managing commercial functions, subcontract procurement, change control (upstream and downstream) and producing monthly CVR reports.

Main Duties
- Manage contract sums, cost plans and monthly cost reconciliation/CVR reporting
- Review contract provisions, client procedures and procurement strategies
- Oversee subcontract procurement: prepare enquiries, analyse returns and negotiate packages
- Manage monthly client applications, certifications and subcontractor payments
- Control change management: variations, instructions, pricing and value recovery
- Monitor programmes, delays and disruption for future recovery
- Ensure all contractual notices are issued correctly and on time
- Manage commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle
- Conclude all commercial duties through to final account
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors
Skills & Experience
- Experience running projects as the commercial lead
- Experience procuring subcontractors
- Experience managing multiple subcontract accounts simultaneously
- Working knowledge of JCT/NEC forms of contract
- Experience producing monthly cost reporting/CVRs

Qualifications & Requirements
- In-date CSCS card supported by a recognised qualification (NVQ, HNC/HND, degree or equivalent)
- HND or degree in Quantity Surveying or a commercially related discipline
- Minimum 5 years experience with a contractor
- Competent using Microsoft Office
Security, Vetting & Right to Work
- Must have full right to work in the UK
- Must have been continuously resident in the UK for the past 5 years to meet client vetting requirements
- Must be willing to undertake DBS, BPSS or client-led security checks where required
- Must be willing to discuss any matters relevant to vetting as part of the process
- Must be able to maintain the vetting standards required for regulated sites
Salary & Package
£60,000 - £80,000 depending on experience Car allowance
