Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire (Hybrid Working)

VINCI Facilities is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take a leading commercial role within a major Defence and Critical Infrastructure programme based in High Wycombe.
This is a unique opportunity to oversee a programme of construction and refurbishment works valued at approximately £110 million, supporting one of the UK's most secure and strategically important Defence environments.
Working across a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from £500,000 to £15 million, you will provide commercial leadership, contractual governance and financial control, while collaborating with operational teams, clients, designers, subcontractors and Defence stakeholders.
This role offers a blend of hybrid working and site presence. Candidates must be willing and able to work regularly on site in Buckinghamshire and travel to other locations when required.
The Opportunity
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will provide commercial leadership across a broad range of reactive works, planned projects, construction schemes and refurbishment programmes within the Defence sector.
You will manage the full commercial lifecycle of projects, ensuring robust contract compliance, effective subcontractor management, accurate valuations and payments, cost control, revenue recovery and commercial reporting. This role is critical to protecting and enhancing commercial performance while supporting the successful delivery of high-profile Defence projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial management of a £110 million programme of works.
- Manage multiple construction and refurbishment projects valued between £500,000 and £15 million.
- Provide commercial leadership and contractual governance across the Defence portfolio.
- Assess and manage subcontractor applications, valuations and payments.
- Ensure effective cost control, forecasting, commercial reporting and risk management.
- Manage procurement activities and subcontractor relationships.
- Identify and maximise recoverable revenue opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with client contracts and internal commercial procedures.
- Work closely with operational, FM, finance and project delivery teams.
- Support project delivery through all relevant RIBA stages.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, military personnel, consultants and supply chain partners.
Essential Requirements
- Strong experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Project Quantity Surveyor within a construction environment.
- Experience within Construction, Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of commercial management and contract administration.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong knowledge of cost control, valuations, procurement and contract compliance.
- Understanding of RIBA project stages.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- CSCS card holder, or willing to obtain one.
- Proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach.

Security Requirements
Due to the sensitive nature of this role, candidates must satisfy the following security requirements:
- Sole UK national.
- Hold active high-level security clearance, or have recently lapsed high-level clearance.
- Willing and eligible to undergo any additional security clearance processes required.
