Senior Quantity Surveyor | Major Energy Infrastructure Project

West London / Berkshire Border

£50,000 - £65,000 + £6,000 Car Allowance + Bonus + Package

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading infrastructure contractor delivering a flagship energy project on the West London/Berkshire border.

Working as part of an experienced site-based commercial team, you'll take responsibility for the end-to-end commercial management of several complex civils & building packages on a major energy project valued at more than £400m.

The position would suit someone ambitious, commercially aware and keen to develop their career whilst working for an industry leading contractor, well regarded for delivering high value, complex and exciting infrastructure projects for clients across the UK.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll quickly become an integral part of their site based team, working with one other Senior QS, a QS and Assistant QS. Some of your main responsibilities will include:

  • Managing all commercial aspects of your share of the project whilst maintaining regular liaison with all stakeholders.
  • Assist with the development of the team including establishing targets for any direct reports and monitor accordingly.
  • Collate, analyse & challenge Cost/Value Reports and forecasts and implement actions where required.
  • Negotiate Terms & Conditions with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Design & implement the commercial strategy.
  • Assist with maximising the projects cash position, including WIP control, cash flow production and improvement plans across the project.
  • Ensuring an overall optimum performance of the commercial team for this project and future works.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience within infrastructure, utilities, energy, heavy civils or major building projects.
  • Good understanding of NEC contracts.
  • Experience managing subcontract packages.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management preferred.
