Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Reading / Berkshire

We’re supporting an established construction business looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial ownership of 1-3 projects across the region. Project Size range from £5-£40million on large scale industrial Groundworks Projects.
This is a hands-on role covering the full commercial lifecycle, with responsibility for cost control, contractor management, valuations, cash flow, and project profitability.
The Role
- Take full commercial responsibility for projects from procurement through to final account.
- Prepare and submit valuations and applications for payment, ensuring strong project cash flow.
- Manage subcontractor procurement, orders, valuations, payments, and final accounts.
- Produce accurate monthly CVRs, forecasts, and final profit projections.
- Re-measure works and maximise contractual entitlement.
- Ensure contractual compliance, including working knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
- Work closely with site teams to maintain accurate records, notices, and commercial documentation.
- Support the Commercial Director across wider commercial and contractual matters.

Requirements
- 8+ years' Quantity Surveying / commercial experience within construction.
- Experience on large groundworks/earthworks projects between £5-40million in a Subcontractor.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
- Excellent commercial, financial, and negotiation skills.
- Confident managing projects and subcontractors independently.
- Strong Excel/MS Office skills; Bluebeam experience advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence, with travel to projects across the region.
